CHARLES FRANCIS HILLYER

Age 72

Charles Francis Hillyer, 72, of Charles Town, WV passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at the Hospice Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville, WV. 

Born January 4, 1942, in Falls, Ohio he was the son of the late Charles Augustus Hillyer and Ethel Conkle Hillyer. 

He was a US Navy veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Brunswick, MD. Charles loved to drive his convertible Camaro and was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. 

He is survived by three daughters, Joy Hillyer of Rockville, MD; Suzanne Pollard and husband, Paul of Derwood, MD and Charlene “Charlie” Hillyer of Charles Town, WV; three grandchildren, Pierce, Holden and Weston Pollard of Derwood, MD; one sister, Letha Moore, one brother, Richard Hillyer and wife, Barbara of Toledo, Ohio; and two loyal K-9 companions, Sadie and Babe. 

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Rosanne. 

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 15, 2014, at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Dr. Henry Christie officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm.
