Paul A. Puls, 71, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 28, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 15, 1943, to Ralph and Renemae (Henney) Puls.

He was a 1962 graduate of Clay High School, where he was a member of the football, basketball and track teams. In 1981, he was inducted into the Clay High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Paul was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Air Force and recently traveled on Honor Flight to Washington D.C. On April 24, 1965, he married the love of his life, Alice Wilson. Paul attended Christ United Methodist Church and was a 43-year member of Paragon Masonic Lodge. For 46 years, Paul was employed with Libbey Glass as a pattern maker, retiring in 2008. His hobbies included: woodworking, golfing, maintaining his lawn, eagle watching, and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Paul coached little league and women's softball for many years, taking many teams to national championships in Tennessee and Georgia. Paul will be remembered for his love of his community, military, and family.

Paul is survived by his wife of 49 years, Alice; children, Mark (Jennifer) Puls and Kim (Joe) Martines; grandchildren, Jacob, Kendall, Tyler, Kennedy, and Carter; sister, JoAnn Wilson, and special niece, Pam (Wayne) Lawler. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Guy and Velda Wilson, and brother-in-law, Larry Wilson.

Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, December 1, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in Christ United Methodist Church, 5757 Starr Avenue, Extension, Oregon, where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Christ United Methodist Church or the Wounded Warrior Project.
