January 13, 1944 - January 27, 2024
Age 80

Ronald H. Maas, age 80, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Ron was born on January 13, 1944, to parents, Harold and Mary Ann Maas. He graduated from Clay High School and completed an apprenticeship through the carpenters union. He spent his career as a carpenter for Meyer & Mohn, and Floyd P. Bucher & Son for over 35 years.

Ron married his caring wife, Marilyn Spino, on Valentine's Day, 1969. They spent over 54 years together, raising 5 daughters. Ron enjoyed vacationing in Luddington, fishing, especially with his grandson, Nicholas, and gardening. He loved making "Ron jokes" and browsing local thrift stores. Ron was a big fan of Ohio State and UT Rockets football and basketball, attending games when he could, if not you could find him in his chair, with snacks, watching them on TV.

Ron was a true craftsman. He was a skillful carpenter by trade with excellent woodworking skills. With the help of family and friends, Ron built the house that he and Marilyn raised their family in. He was known for "Ronifying" everything he owned, from lawnmowers to walkers. PVC pipe, duct tape, and silicone were his close companions. He was handy and always tinkering on numerous different projects. Ron was always there to lend a hand to his friends and family. Although quick to temper, he was quicker to apologize. He loved his friends and family and will be greatly missed.

Ron is survived by his wife, Marilyn Maas; daughters, Aimee (Lou) Szabo, Rhonda (Mike) Carter, Gina (Brian) Nowakowski, Alison Maas, and Christie Maas; siblings, Marilyn Sager, Don (Donna) Maas, Connie Maas, and Denny (Debbie) Maas; grandson, Nicholas Nowakowski, honorary grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and his feline companion, Sam.
